This dataset provides data on benthic macrofauna—insect larvae, worms, molluscs, and small crustaceans living on riverbeds—collected by net at monitoring stations four times a year in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland. Water quality is assessed using the Biological Index method based on the composition of these organism communities. The dataset covers the most recent survey campaign and is published by the Système d'information du territoire genevois (Geneva territorial information system).
