This WFS service provides geographic data on the hydroelectric potential of river sections in the former Rhône-Alpes region of France. It stems from a study commissioned by DREAL Rhône-Alpes (the regional environment, planning and housing authority) and carried out by CETE de Lyon, assessing hydroelectric potential against environmental concerns. The study was intended to support strategic thinking on reconciling two ambitious environmental objectives, including efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with hydropower development along the region's watercourses.
