It is published by the Swiss Confederation, with data managed by the Federal Office of Topography (swisstopo), and provides a national-level resource on building materials and stone quarrying history in Switzerland.This dataset shows the use of stone in the construction of over 4,000 buildings in Switzerland. The data was collected by Francis de Quervain between 1954 and 1983. Over the past ten years, the collection has been continuously supplemented with other stone applications.
