This dataset provides a map of natural environments across the Greater Geneva cross-border region, maintained by the Système d'information du territoire genevois (SITG), the geographic information service of the canton of Geneva. It forms a still-evolving component intended to help identify transboundary ecological infrastructure, complementing the existing map of natural environments within the canton of Geneva itself. The map originated from geomatics certificate research carried out in 2018. It is a local, freely accessible resource useful for environmental planning, landscape ecology, and cross-border conservation work in the Geneva metropolitan area.The map of the natural environments of Greater Geneva constitutes a part, still to be refined, which serves to identify the transboundary ecological infrastructure.
