This dataset provides the geographic location of Natural Areas of Ecological Interest (Milieux Naturels d'Intérêt Ecologique, MNIE) across the Pays de Rennes area for 2022. The inventory originated in the 1990s on the initiative of elected officials of the former District de Rennes as a voluntary effort to better account for biodiversity at the local territorial scale. It has since been regularly updated and has substantially enriched knowledge of natural habitats in the region.
