This dataset lists persons who died in France, compiled since 1970 from death records transmitted to INSEE (the French national statistics institute) by municipalities. Under a 2019 opinion of the CADA (Commission for Access to Administrative Documents), the file of deceased persons is deemed an administrative document, as it is produced by INSEE in the course of its public-service duties and does not contain information subject to restricted disclosure.
