This API provides both new and old municipality and cadastral (matrikkel) numbers for municipalities and properties affected by the Norwegian municipal mergers carried out between 2017 and 2020. Some older municipal boundary changes are also included. The service is built on a daily-updated extract of the national cadastre (matrikkelen), with further metadata available via Geonorge. It is intended for users who need to reconcile historical and current municipality or property identifiers following administrative restructuring, such as public registers, GIS systems, and address-matching applications.
