This dataset provides the boundaries of the five "Hauptregionen" (main regions) into which the Lower Austrian spatial planning authorities have divided the province for operational purposes. Each region groups areas sharing common characteristics, such as geographic proximity, similar economic structure, or comparable resource endowments, as well as related spatial-planning challenges.
