This dataset provides the classification of Austria into agricultural production regions, based on natural and agricultural production conditions. Originally developed by the Bundesanstalt für Agrarwirtschaft (Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics), the territory is divided into 8 main production regions, which are further subdivided into 87 small production regions. It is published by Statistik Austria and can be used for regional analysis of agricultural conditions, statistical reporting, and spatial planning related to farming and land use across Austria.Auf Grund der natürlichen und landwirtschaftlichen Produktionsgegebenheiten ist Österreich von der Bundesanstalt für Agrarwirtschaft in 8 landwirtschaftliche Hauptproduktionsgebiete (HPG) untergliedert, die wiederum in insgesamt 87 Kleinproduktionsgebiete (KPG) zerfallen.
