This dataset describes the national administrative boundaries of France (metropolitan territory and overseas departments) at the commune level, as of 2015. Produced annually from the BD CARTO® database by the French national mapping agency (Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière, IGN), it is designed for geomarketing applications as well as statistical and thematic cartography at scales around 1:1,000,000.
