EMODnet sea-floor lithology
This dataset provides a generalized map of marine bedrock lithology, derived and compiled from multiple larger-scale sources, primarily the IGME 5000 GIS database. Geological feature types have been transferred according to OneGeology-Europe requirements, with lithology mapped into the 1GE_Lithology classification. The download package includes all data underlying the four sea-floor (bedrock) layers presented on the EMODnet map page, covering European marine areas and supporting geological and marine research applications.This map was derived and compiled from many larger scale data sources and has thus been generalized. It represents the lithology of marine bedrock of the IGME 5000 GIS and database at the time of plotting. The geological feature types are transferred after the OneGeology-Europe requirements, especially lithology was mapped into 1GE_Lithology. The download package contains all data used for the four layers under “Sea-floor (bedrock)” on the map page.
