Designated Blue Flag Beach
This dataset lists beaches in Ireland designated with the Blue Flag, an eco-label awarded to beaches and marinas by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Awards are based on strict criteria covering water quality, environmental management, safety and services. In 2013, 74 of 133 assessed beaches in the Republic of Ireland received the award. The dataset is published by the Marine Institute and can be used to identify locations meeting recognised environmental and safety standards for bathing water and coastal facilities.The Blue Flag is an exclusive eco-label awarded for beaches and marinas by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education).
