This WMS service provides the Demographic Statistical Areas (DeSO), a nationwide geographic classification created by Statistics Sweden (SCB) that took effect in January 2018, with an updated version published in 2025. DeSO divides Sweden into 6,160 areas, most containing between 700 and 3,000 inhabitants. The classification follows county and municipal boundaries and is designed to support consistent small-area statistical analysis over time.
