This dataset is part of the Conjunctural Land Occupation Chart (COSc), an annual product of Portugal's Land Occupation Monitoring System (SMOS). The pre-summer edition is an additional update issued ahead of the summer season, intended to supply timely land-cover information to the Portuguese forestry sector before the peak wildfire period. The 2026 pre-summer edition is based on updated mapping of land occupation across the national territory, allowing users to track recent changes in vegetation and land cover relevant to forest management and wildfire risk assessment.
