This national dataset describes areas where vehicle transit and parking are possible, independent of traffic flow direction, which is a property of the roadway itself. It is composed of sub-areas that capture specific characteristics of vehicle circulation, such as permitted movement and stopping zones, distinguishing them from the carriageway concept used for traffic-flow classification. The dataset is published through the Barga geographic information system (ldpgis.it) and is intended to support spatial analysis of road infrastructure and vehicle accessibility across the Italian territory.
