This dataset from the Occitanie regional open-data portal provides geographic boundaries of "urban areas" (aires urbaines) for 1999 and 2010 in the Occitanie region of France. An urban area is defined as a contiguous, enclave-free group of communes formed by an urban pole (urban unit) with more than 10,000 jobs, together with surrounding rural communes or urban units (the peri-urban ring) where at least 40% of the resident working population commutes to that pole.
