Air Quality Management Areas
This dataset identifies Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) in the UK, designated where air quality objectives for a specific pollutant are unlikely to be achieved. Since December 1997, local authorities across the UK have been required to review and assess air quality within their jurisdictions, measuring pollution levels and forecasting future trends. Where an area is found unlikely to meet national air quality objectives, it is declared an AQMA, triggering further local action planning to address the issue.
