AFIS - Gravity Fixed Points
This dataset provides gravity fixed points, official reference locations where the Earth's gravitational acceleration has been precisely determined and documented in the official SFP certificate. Gravity combines the Earth's mass attraction with the centrifugal effect of its rotation. The points originate from the State Gravimetric Networks established in the 1960s in the former GDR, comprising Orders 1 to 4, with unmarketed 4th Order points reaching a density of roughly one point per 1.5 square kilometers. Published by Landesvermessung und Geobasisinformation Brandenburg (LGB), the data covers the state of Brandenburg and is available free of charge via automated retrieval or self-service download, subject to applicable license conditions.Gravity fixed points are measurement points for which the fall acceleration (heaviness) of the earth is determined very precisely and which are listed in the official SFP certificate. The gravity or fall acceleration consists of gravity (mass attraction of the earth) and the centrifugal acceleration of the earth's rotation. In the 1960s, the State Gravimetric Networks (SGN) were established in the former GDR. The 1st to 3rd Order was marketed, the 4. Order remained unmarketed. The point density is 1 gravimeter point 1 to 4. Order on 1.5 km ². The data is provided free of charge via automated procedures or by means of self-extraction. When using the data, the license conditions must be observed.
